The 5th Concession East between Hwy. 6 and Centre Road was closed for most of the morning, as Hamilton Police Service’s Collision Reconstruction team pieced together the events that led to the death of an eastbound driver.
According to the HPS media relations officer, Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings, the collision took place before 8 a.m. “The vehicle that was eastbound on Concession 5 lost control and struck another vehicle that was westbound,” she said.
The female driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was re-opened at about 1:45 p.m.
The identity of the deceased driver has not been released, pending notification of the family.
