FASTEST BED IN TOWN EVERYBODY WINS: Angela Westelchen, branch manager for Oakville TD Canada Trust, is pushed across the finish line by her team in the 2008 Bank Bed Challenge on Lakeshore Road East on Sunday. The TD team earned the title of the Fastest Bed in Town. The event raised a total of $111,391 to buy hospital beds for Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH).

UNEXPECTED GIFTS: Christine Pritchard of Pinnochio's Pick of the Crop and Ann Mulvale, co-chair of $Million or More Oakville ($MOMO) present awards to young Aidan Freeman and Ann Orlando, winners in the Name the Elephant contest. Halla will now track the campaign's progress.
TURNED AWAY: Oakville goalie Oliver Wren stops Tyson Cameron of the Weeks Crushers on a wraparound attempt Monday at the RBC Royal Bank Cup in Cornwall. The Crushers scored late and then won 5-4 in overtime, dropping the Blades to 0-2 at the tournament.
MAKING LEMONADE FOR SICK KIDS: Jack Yeilding, left, a five-year old boy who has severe epilepsy, created Jack's Lemonade Stand to help other children through the Hospital for Sick Kids last year. He raised $14,000 last year and is among 32 individuals being recognized for leadership in the Build-A-Bear Workshop's Huggable Heroes program. Last Saturday Jack's Lemonade Stand was at the new Longo's store in west Oakville as was the Oakville Children's Choir, which was performing Make Lemonade, a new song to celebrate and support Jack's fundraising.
